Errant file size listing

John-Baker6622 wrote on 1/24/2023, 10:10 AM

My Sound Forge Pro 11 now has a permanent file size listed in the lower-right-hand corner of the file edit page, whether or not there is a file opened on it: 35,600.7mb. If I open a file, it ascribes this same size to that if I save the file. How do I delete this errant file size?

@John-Baker6622 You could try to reset the program settings under the File menu.

I am not sure what you are referring too. Please post a screenshot!
Otherwise, you may have had the "Data Window Only" enabled and inadvertently disabled it. You can switch that mode in the "Options> Data Window" menu.
It could also be the "Time Ruler" which can be switched in the same menu.

btw, welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @John-Baker6622.

rraud, I have figured it out! This is the total space remaining on my computer's internal hard drive. Clearly I need to transfer some of the files to a new back-up external hard disc. Sorry for the worry.

If you prefer not to see the 'Free storage space' on the status bar, it can be easily disabled or enabled:
"Options> Preferences> General> Show free storage space on Status Bar"
