editing scenes triggered by keyboard keys

Hi

I m editing a music video trailer 2 mins lenght. I ve splitted and created small scenes ( 1 or 2 sec lenght each) I want to assembly and edit those scene onto the master trailer in a flashy manner:

A# can i assign each scene to a keypad so i can trigger it quickly and  in sync with the techno backgound when i m creating the final trailer??(similar to ableton live )

the effect i want to achieve is a flashy/fast sequence video effect  and i will sync the scene manually to the soundtrack..triggering all via a keypad of function key (F1  F2 ...)

any idea or is MEP able to do such things ?

hdvideopro,

Your can do what you want in some versions of MEP (eg MX Plus) which have 'multicam editing', though the switch between the two (or more?) source clips is done with a mouse click.

Hi

Look up Multi-cam editting in the manual installed with the software - all you need to know is there.

I think only in Magix Video Pro X, the much more expensive version.

Multi-cam is designed more for using takes from separate cameras that are in sync throughout so maybe a different approach could be used? Assuming you have your Audio complete I'd suggest using the wave form display as a guide to positioning your short clips. A copy of it with the volumes boosted to the max would be better -- just must it. Perhaps start by dragging the clips in so that their starts come 'on the beat'. I realize this is a lot of manual work but the waveform should help a great deal.

Carl

thanks for reply, i ve been using the audio waveform so far but again its a lot of manual and tedious job..ableton live has what i want and is not a video editor!
