I've copied old VHS tapes to my HDD as several VOB files which are quite large. I want to cut bits out of these VOB files and put the bits together to make a family DVD.Can I do this using "Movies on CD and DVD 4"? The help tutorial hints that I may be able to do it but does not tell me how. Can anyone help please??

Generally, I can only recommend newer generations of Magix video editing software for the import and editing of DVD source material. If you want to try it in the version you have, you will probably have to rename the VOB file extension to a standard MPEG-2 file extension, like MPG. This should enable you to locate and "see" the files in question in the internal file browser and drag them into the program. Start importing at "VTS_01_1.VOB" and make sure to install the following free AC3 codec to decode the Dolby Digital sound properly:

But, once again, if you experience problems, I strongly suggest looking at the trial version of one of the newer Magix products, e.g.:

I hope this helps.
