Is there a way of reporting this bug to the creators so it can be fixed?

To create a support ticket go to https://support2.magix.com/customer/index.php, log in and follow carefully each subsequent page. Always choose the option to “Ask Support”, it’s often at the foot of each page. It’s not the easiest route to navigate but if you stick at it you will create a ticket, which, once submitted, you should expect to receive an immediate email acknowledgment.

Welcome to the user to user forums.

In the project settings / Device options, if you are using an nvidia card for the hardware acceleration try changing only the 'Import' section to Microsoft WARP Device and leave the other two to nvidia. See if that helps.

This behaviour on my machine seems to have coincided with a Microsoft update about two weeks ago (The last update) . Didn't happen before. I am beginning to suspect either an update to the net framework of which there is a new update I'm installing now or they have sneaked in a Direct x update.

Hi all.

I have downloaded and installed the latest Microsoft Patch for Win 10 Enterprise (KB5027389) and it seems to have cured the export problem allowing nvidia to be selected in Import, Processing and Export but it has disabled Hardware acceleration when a Dynamic title (and I assume a 3D title as well) is used.

Hardware acceleration still works when not working with an mx(*) file extension file.

I still think this is a problem introduced by Microsoft.

Last update.

Windows Update (KB5027389) did not fully load first time around.(for me at least). In fact on my machine it took three reboots and checking with Windows update to ensure it fully installed.

Now all previous problems on my machine dealing with any type of text within MMS / MEP / has seemingly completely gone. I can use my nvidia card on Import / Processing and Export and get hardware acceleration on export. I have tested it on previous titles reported to have stopped working plus a bunch of other types.

The odd erratic vram usage amount has also calmed down with less vram (and motherboard ram) has settled down to a lower amount of usage as well although it has not resulted in a faster export time.

So, as I originally thought, it was not a Magix problem. Do be aware there is a warning on the Microsoft website that in some instances accumulative update (KB5027389) may cause the audio settings to stop working depending on if you have any audio enhancements enabled. In such instances the audio may have to be reset and audio enhancements turned off for now. Also make sure the last update before (KB5027389) was installed before proceeding with the update. There was one additional update between the start of the problems and now.

Current build version for Windows 10 should now be 19044.2075.

I have windows 10 Pro. Could not find update KB5027389 but maybe it's because of different windows. I am fully updated, and the build is at 19044.2075. Unfortunately, no change for me, so frustrating. Will try and raise a ticket, new to this software as I need to be able to use the dynamic text facility.

That is the correct build version but do ensure that the update shows by viewing the update history. I had to reboot my system three times. You should find it under Other updates in the view update history.

If it is not working you may be missing the previous update of (KB5017380) which I think was also necessary. (I have triple checked that file number this time.)

I am running MEP 2022 and not MMS 2023 so there may be an addition factor there as well.

All I wanted to do was use the Dynamic Typewriter Subtitles: add, rotate, size. The entire field turned black and I COULD NOT figure out how to change that. The field showed only one line of text on the bottom of the field and I COULD NOT change the alignment, margin, anything. Software shouldn't bring one to tears. After two hours, I wound up abandoning my efforts and settled for a plain title, sized and rotated... 60 secs and done.

Did you add key frames manually to the size position rotation effect?

I didn't, but thank you for showing me that. I need to rotate the object -11 on the Z axis. Based on what I saw you do, I tried it again and got it without using keyframes. Then I noticed the typewriter goes at a fixed rate instead of as required to type all the characters in the time allotted. Then the object disappeared as soon as the last character was typed, so I worked around that by entering some space characters at the end.

Hi.

You can speed up or slow down the text by dragging the object ends to a different length or just use the speed control effect. The problem of not adding the key frames if they are not created automatically is the program can lose the automation the next time the program is opened.

Also try adding the effect in several separate blocks for better spacing and timing of individual sentences.

Resizing the object didn't do anything. I didn't see a speed control, but I saw a clock dial and a duration field, neither of which had any effect. Looks like I need to spend some time mastering key frames. For now, my project is finished and burnt to DVD. Gratitude for your tutelage.
