DVD Menu Text renders jagged / pixelated

onium wrote on 5/22/2012, 6:04 PM

Using Movie Edit Pro MX on Win 7 Ultimate

Thus far no matter which font or font size I use in the DVD menu, after I hit Preview or watch the burned DVD of my movie, all of the menu text is highly pixelated around the edges. Earlier versions of this software did not display such an extreme problem.

Is there a fix for this?

Thank you, jeremy

Hi

Which DVD menu template are you using or is this with all templates and are you using a standard DVD template for a HD movie menu?

John

Hi John,

I tried the Animated 16:9 DVD menue template, 'Sparkles', and I also tried using a solid black background with off-white text. Both have very un-smooth or pixelated text. I'm using the font Arial but other fonts have the same problem.

Thank you, jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

I was unable to reproduce that (on my XP PC).

Has the project resolution somehow dropped to a low value?

Also, take a look at the Arranger view (click as shown in my screenshot) and scroll down to track #16 and examine the properties of the file _MenuPicture_.bmp.

Otherwise, start afresh with new ultra simple project (e.g. one JPG) and post further details of what you see, and your project and menu settings.

Never fails to surprise me how often users post here with a problem that they've apparently been wrestling with yet they either never bother to read later posts or, if they do, fail to offer any feedback.

Quite agree, Terry!

Almost makes one feel it's not worth offering a possible solution to the various problems presented because you never know a) has the solution been tried, b) did it work, etc. etc.
