Can't import the one and only (obviously) video format.. If Columbia, Sony, RCA, ++++++ and most companies are sending the video clips in this format WHY Don't you DO SOMETHING ?? so I will be able to open the clips in my Movie Edit Pro ??
Just so you know, you are not talking to Magix here, you are talking to users. This is a user forum, not a tech support forum or a product development forum. So please stop using the "why don't you" comment. Better to ask something like "does anyone know how to convert..." or "can anyone help me get the codec for ..." instead of "why don't you" that sounds more like a demand than it does a question or a request for help.
Please refrain from using capitals as it is considered shouting.
This is a users forum for posting questions to fellow users for help and advice or helping other users who are having problems with their video editting..
Your view that DVCPro is the one and only format for video is your opinion only and should be clearly stated that it is your opinion and not presented as fact.
I'd be thinking that if its "Columbia, Sony, RCA, +++..." that are setting the format, then there is profit expected and codecs might only be available for purchase, not freely distributed with every possible editing or viewing application.
Curious, what does 'GSpot' think of your clips? Does it tell you exactly what codec is needed?
It's a free utility that gives heaps of info about media files including codec details. The .mov files I have are listed as 'Apple Quick Time'. Some codecs used by say Windows Media Player aren't available to other programs. The usual thing with .mov files is to install the Quicktime player or an alternative eg:
I have a screenshot here .. It says It's dv5p codec. (screenshot included)
. I have Qucktime installed, but even Quicktime player could not open the videos.
I am running a small music tv channel
So, I watch videos trough VLC player, than convert them to avi, then label and cut unnecessary parts, and export in highest possible rate mpeg for playing. really bad. That's why I needed small yet reliable proffecional editing program. And I am not sure is it going to better if I buy quicktime-Pro.
and download "Any Video Converter". Convert your .mov files to something useful and normal such as MPEG-4 or MP4 even .wmv if you must. For now don't worry about the resolution that you may think will give you higher quality. Once converted, edit your video and save it again as MPEG-4. Then play it back in another video player and see what it looks like. By the way you have not really posted any system specs on this issue. If you are trying to do this with 1-4 megabytes of ram, you need to re-think that, if you are doing it with a slow processor or an old computer, that could also be part of the problem. Without more information, we are all just sitting here gazing at our crystal ball and speculating about what the problem might be.
Do yourself a favor, tell us about your system and please try to be much more specific about how and when this problem occurs.
Good Luck
ps. if you posted a screen shot, it did not come through
