@Jonathan-Torres

Hi. Interesting question!

I have no experience of trying this so it may not work!  I assume that when you first open your version of MM, a screen is displayed which offers options to open an existing project or start a new project? Does it also offer the option to Activate Edition? If so, you could select that option and then try entering your new key on the screen which appears. The "old" key should still be showing, and hence valid and entering the new key should, theoretically, enable you to download and install those new "extras".

As already stated, I cannot guarantee this will work!! 😇

@emmrecs I understand what you mean, but I don't want to burn the key if this isn't going to work.

Hi Jonathan,

Don't worry, you wouldn't be "burning" the key one way or another. If it's really the very same edition (from the very same year), you'd simply get an error message that it cannot be redeemed because you already own that particular content. That's all. You would indeed not be able to redeem the same edition (from the same release year) twice, and you wouldn't be able to combine a "Plus" and a "Premium" edition either. However, if you're already sitting on two keys now, please get in touch with our support, and I'm sure we'll find a way to sort you out with something, so you haven't wasted your money:

I redeemed my key and find that I have many new soundpools to choose from. I was worried I would have a limited selection and most of those would have been already installed from my previous EDM edition.

Hi Jonathan,

Glad to hear that's sorted. MAGIX will probably be releasing a new iteration of the various editions each year, just like there would have been a new release of the program each year, before it was a "freemium" product. The editions will continue to be the best value-for-money deal to get a bundle of new soundpools, instruments etc. (compared to buying everything individually in the in-app store). So, our musicians will keep providing a steady supply of fresh soundpools that you will be able to spend your soundpool credits on.

Cheers!
