I assume you are installing from the installation manager, which has been flaky downloading for the past month or so. Try again later with your anti-virus temporarily disabled or download the unpacked installer directly from here: http://dl04.magix.net/2022/SOUNDFORGEPro16/SOUND_FORGE_Pro_16.1.2.55_DLV_INT_x64_220914_05-50_52A64BAA.exe This is not the latest build, but will work. The current build (16.1.2.68), has even more bugs. I would recommend waiting to update from build 55 until the next update is released. Hopefully all the issues are resolved then. The other files in the install manager should download ok and install..
Hello everyone! I'm new to the community but not new to Sound Forge. I can't get Sound Forge Pro 16 to open anymore. I just uninstalled and tried to re-install just in case that would help. Nope. Now I can't even install and I see here that I should probably not have uninstalled. I went to the link that rraud provided but... no such luck. I have a job I need to voice and I'm kind of dead in the water at the mo. Any help or advice??
Hold CTRL and SHIFT and double click on the program icon to launch Sound Forge and still hold the two keys until you see a small window that allows you to reset the program settings. Maybe this will help.
Make also sure to install all pending Windows updates and reboot your computer.
Make sure you allow microphone access for all programs in the Windows security settings
You may also try to unplug external sound devices in case they crash Sound Forge during the program start.
Or run Sound Forge as administrator by right clicking on the program icon.
Or uninstall Sound Forge again with a free tool like Revo Uninstaller. This will also delete all remaining registry entries. Then reinstall it again.
Yes, I've been using it with no problem until today. I always launch in administrator mode and I did uninstall and then re-install. I did not, however uninstall using Revo. I'll have to give that a go and see what happens. I did a work-around by using 12 which I'm not fond of, so I hope I can get this resolved. Oh, and I'm all up to date with windows updates. This is such a head scratcher. Thank you again! If your suggestions don't work, I'll be back ;)

thank you so much! although this saves time, it doesn't install the izotope 32 bit vsts. looks like I have to get install them separately. all the cool stuff are there in those 32 bit vsts. like exciter, multiband compressor etc.
You can get the Ozone plugs directly from iZotope. Though 64 bit Sound Forge Pro 16 has an issue with third-party 32bit VST plugs.. most of the plug-in's parameters cannot be accessed due to the size or the plug-in's UI. The 32 bit version of SFP-16 (x86) is OK though, but then your 64 bit plugs do not work (SOL if you need both at the same time). I have reverted back to SFP-15 until the issue gets resolved.

No.. a SFP-16 serial will not activate SFP-15 or other earlier versions. However, until the SFP-16 issues are resolved, Magix has been offering an SFP-15 activation serial for SFP-16 license holders if they ask. I cannot guarantee this, but Magix customer service is usually accommodating. Magix Customer Service email: infoservice@magix.net
