@Giorgio-Pranzo

Hi,

Yes and yes.

The only thing that PhotoStory has that Magix Movie Studio Platinum/Suite (MMS) does not is the fx panel that you can open when the Preview Monitor is in full-screen.

However, MMS doesn't need this as it has movable windows. So, you can open and move the effects window around and use all controls when the Preview Monitor is in full-screen. If you have 2 monitors, then you can use them for the various windows and resize the windows as you wish; not so in PhotoStory.

MMS has more tracks (up to 99), numbered, controls on the tracks and more and better editing tools for both video/image and audio editing. And much, much more.

If you are doing any video editing at all, you're best with MMS.

Hello John! Thank you kindly for the perfectly informative answer. Really appreciated.

I do video editing using MMS, but the PhotoStory package has been peeking my interest for some time as possibly a much quicker workflow tool to assemble some quick videos. I had a suspicion that MMS was a superset of the PhotoStory tool but could not find any information in regards.

Cheers!

Giorgio

Hi John

A belated heads up

. . . . MMS has more tracks (up to 99) . . .

In MMS 2023 and 2024 the track limit is up to 200. Why anyone would use that number of tracks is 😱.

Hi John and John.

As far as I can recall sice I got my first copy of Movie Edit pro 2018, each version of the product had its own limit to the amount of tracks provided. With Pro being the lowest, then Plus, and finally Premium.

At one time 99 tracks were the maximum but before my time.

That is taken from the Video Pro X2 version manual.

200 hundred tracks has been the maximum since I started using the software for the premium version. I can't remember or find what the minimum was at that time but believe there were three amounts.

The current offerings are.

If you had a camera and one stereo mic for each musician in a symphony orchestra and wanted sound on separate tracks you would need 200 tracks to have complete sound control. 🤣😉
