Disk Space Calculation on MEP15+

Hi all,

Rendered a Blu ray disk ...it showed prior to burn that used space on disk is  21+ GB / 23+GB on a typical BD-R (25GB).

Then while actual burning it says ...it is not sufficient ...is there something I am missing or is there another way to calculate the required space or the project burn. This will helpful ..because I need not render for 5-6 hours if its not gonna write...
Thanks

Hi,

Maybe it's a very extensive disc menu that isn't really taken into consideration when estimating the disc usage (e.g. lots of background music or even video etc). Either way, I suppose you could always manually adjust the bit rate in the MPEG encoder settings a bit lower than what the program will put by default in order to make sure the data fits onto the disc after encoding.

I agree with ralftaro on that one. I have Movie Edit Pro 2013 Plus which is several generations after MEP 15 and miscalculation is still a problem!

So what I've been doing is a re-render by reducing the bit rate, BUT after I click on the "burn" button, Movie Edit Pro asks me if I want to re-use or re-encode the big movie file. I answer "Use."

Then it asks me if I want to re-use or re-encode the menu files. Here's where I click on "Encode."

Still takes time but not as long as it would if I had to re-encode the entire movie!
