Differences between Movie Edit Pro and Vegas

Good evening people!
I use Vegas Pro 18 and I would like to know if there is much difference compared to Movie Edito Pro. What I do is just a hobby, and if Movie Edit has what I need I think about subscribing to the annual plan to keep it always up to date .
I would also like to confirm that the export done in it is faster than in Vegas. I saw a comparative video (may be fake) in which the person exported the same project in both software. The difference between them was that in Vegas the video took almost 6 minutes to export, while in Movie Edit Pro it took just over a minute.
And finally, which GPU brand is best optimized for it? In the Vegas community (I'll compare again because it's the software I know) they made a project and left it for download for users to test and post the results, which so far have shown that it is better optimized for Intel CPU and AMD GPU.

I have Vegas19 & MEP Premium which is pretty much the same as the basic Pro,
MEP (Magix Edit Pro) will render a 25min 4k 3840 x 2160 project in 5mins & use 100% of my GPU to do that,
Vegas does the same project in 14mins & uses 30-50% of my GPU 😒,
MEP will play 4k vids with transitions fluidly without a bother, whereas Vegas struggles,
But MEP won't play all my plugins & there's features in Vegas that aren't in MEP.
If you buy a new GPU get the best you can afford if you're going to swap to MEP. it will def use it & the expense will be worthwhile,
Yeah there is quite a difference between the two, I think you're better off downloading the trial version of MEP & see if the features are enough for you after coming from Vegas.
I personally use both,
MEP is well worth the small amount it costs

@Former user I didn't put the information there because I haven't finished assembling it yet. But what I have today is an i9 12900k with no GPU (only the integrated video card) and 32Gb RAM.
From what I use Vegas I think is more than I need. Maybe if it was for professional use or for creating content for Youtube it wouldn't change, but that's not the case.
What caught my attention besides the speed of the MEP is the price. As I have Vegas 18 and it already has more functions than MEP, I could subscribe to it annually and keep it updated. Here in my country it would be the equivalent of less than USD 4.00 per month.
As for the GPU, I went to see your profile and you really have a real PC Master Race LOL
I'm thinking of buying a 6900XT with 16Gb and putting it on an eGPU so I can use it on my desktop, or plug it into a notebook.

And what about the temperatures at the time of export? Both CPU and GPU heat up a lot (taking into account that GPU usage rises to 100%).

@Ricardo-Bacchin I think the 6900XT will serve you well with MEP 👍 i wouldn't worry about temps, it renders so fast it's done before it can get warm,

My PC would work as well as yours if you look at the Vegas Benchmark test, I9's + 6900 GPU's give similar times to mine, that pisses me off a little but hey 🤷‍♂️🙃😂

This is MEP rendering that 25min 4k project i mentioned, CPU doing very little, & Ram hardly changes either

I bought the full yrs New Purchase, It sounds like prices are similar here to where you are, I'd buy Premium rather than the other options, it doesn't cost much more, here it is £55 & like Vegas you get it for life, rather than renting it in a subscription, because it's so cheap i just upgrade for about £40 each yr, & if i miss the deadline it doesn't matter like it would if it was a sub,

The workflow is a little different, tracks that are in the front on screen are the lower tracks, the background is the very top track, reverse to Vegas,

I use it for simple YT videos, U deletes the end of an event, Z deletes the start of an event, T cuts the event, it's very simple & quick,

Transitions & the transition time length can be applied to all events easily

There's a little lightening symbol bottom right of the preview that shows whether proxy files are being used, (i don't bother with proxy in MEP, it normally doesn't need them )

You can zoom the preview window in & out for doing things off screen,

For the price i'd get it, & then you'll have both Vegas & MEP.

@Former user I had a 5800X with a 3070 and I thought it was fast. I sold it and mounted the i9 (but it's still not working because I bought a WC AIO and NZXT sent me the LGA 1700 bracket via Fedex and it will arrive on Monday).
I have an old notebook, third generation core i5 with 2Gb of RAM and SSD. In theory it would run almost nothing.
I just installed MEP and it ran very smoothly and really fast.
I downloaded a video in 1080p 60fps and made some cuts and put effects (very simple thing - I just didn't put a transition because I couldn't find where to do it!) and had it rendered.
I was surprised at the speed when dealing with such an old notebook! I tried to use Vegas and it is very heavy. Depending on the scene it doesn't even render.
I was excited that even with a computer without GPU (core i9) it will export very fast.
Ah, is it possible to make the project in Vegas and import into MEP for it to export?

Hi,

Movie Edit Pro Plus/Premium is closer to Vegas Movie Studio, whereas Video Pro X, the big brother of MEP is closer to Vegas Pro. However, MEP and Video Pro X share the same features and content.

Below is something close to what I posted in the Vegas MS forum recently, mainly about transitions and titles. I'll try to find the other info that I posted in this forum about some of the features that you get with MEP/VPX that are not with Vegas. What I always mention is that MEP/VPX is a multi-timeline (multiple movies) program, something that Vegas users only dream about.

With Magix Movie Studio 2022 Suite which is the same as Movie Edit Pro Premium 2022 (MMS Platinum = MEP Plus), you get a whole lot more content, but only after purchase, so you can't see it all in the trial version. There are a few GB of content plus Travel Maps to be downloaded.
