Default Track Height

FYk wrote on 11/6/2019, 2:11 PM

Hi all, I have a serious trouble. I have a MM 28.0.2.43 and the height of the tracks is the BIG. When I set to Default to all tracks, then height is ok for all tracks. But when I add any of a new loop to the arranger, all the tracks is big again. Is there any chance to have a height of all tracks in small (or default) height? Forever?

And yet another observation. When I have all the tracks low (by default) and add a new track, all the tracks are unexpectedly big again. You can't work with this program at all. Any previous version was better than this.

@FYk

Hi,

I can't replicate your problem. This was a problem in a previous version but was supposed to have been fixed.

If I make all track small and then add a track, it becomes the default height, but the others are not touched.

Try pressing on Tab. The first time will make all tracks big. Press Tab again, all tracks will be the default height.

Then make a track smaller or higher and apply the height to all tracks. Then try adding a loop. The track height should not be affected. Add a track, new track will be default, all others should be unaffected.

Problem solved?

We found in the previous version that pressing on Tab seemed to make the track heights work properly from then on.

Hi all,

I'm afraid I have to confirm that the track height issues are still work in progress. This mainly concerns track height settings that are being made via the track or track header context menu and won't stick after performing certain other actions. A detailed bug report has already been escalated to development.

Most users, most of the time just want to be able to toggle between big and small track height view, and want those changes to stick, even when e.g. doing vertical scrolling in the project. As John pointed out, the Tab key will do the trick here, and help you avoid the other problems mentioned above.

Cheers!

Hello everyone. thank you all for the advice you provided. The Tab key really solves everything, but working with row high is still disappointing.
