  1. Which software - and which build - are you talking about?
  2. From which website did you download the software?
  3. Please describe exactly what you have done before?
  4. What you want to achieve?

After a timeline selection is made, the 'Cut' (scissors) icon should illuminate only when the cursor is hovered over it. Clicking the icon, initiates the cut (at least that is the normal behavior in Sound Forge Pro).

Thanks for the comments, guys. I have had problems with my internet. The VPN is the cause for this. The Sound Forge problem is of another kind.

I use Cleaning Lab 3, which I download from the company site online. I've used Cleaning Lab 2 for a long time and now Cleaning Lab 3. In both cases, the cut action never showed scissors; just put the insertion bar on the spot where you want the cut and then click the button marked with scissors. In Magix Cleaning Labs the scissors would follow the insertion point until you turned it off. In the Sound Forge Cleaning Lab the scissors never showed up at the insertion point, just position the insertion point and then click the button. Now the insertion point has scissors on it and you cannot make it change. You can cut any file, as many times as you want, but it stays that way regardless of what you try to do to make it stop. Like I said above: I've tried a new download, then delete old files and then download. Nothing helps. The app still comes up with this cut function the only way presented.

I have not seen this as a problem for others but I am interested in anything you have to offer.

@Kent-Birge

Hi,

Did you try the shortcut V to put the mouse back to select mode? T will cut.

No. Cannot see any changes to what I already have. I can operate the buttons and choices outside of the file window but as soon as the arrow comes into the window, there are the scissors again.
