CURSOR DOES NOT MOVED DURING PLAY BACK

Z3Pp3l1n wrote on 2/13/2017, 10:05 AM

I have not used the Magix Music Maker MX for some time. (It is about three four years old)

I recently started using again. I recorded some music and when I play it back the music comes on as normal but the cursor line remains at the beginning of the recording Other recordings the cursor which tells you where the recording is up to remains where it is.
Can you please advise me on how to fix the problem.

I sent the above to Magix and got the below reply. Can anyone help with my problem. I think the reply from Magix is poor.

Unfortunately you software is not any longer supported. Note that your free support per request runs out after one year from the date of purchase. I would strongly recommend an upgrade to our new versions where you can take advantage of our new features, improved quality and interface as well as free email technical support.

In any case, regarding your actual problem it seems to be caused by unfinished windows updates. Make sure all windows updates have been completed successfully (optional updates as well). Some times a simple rebooting helps overcoming similar issues.

I have the same issue Music maker Premium 2014 and I also agree not helpful reply ( I did check updates thou and fully up to date!) and the playback cursor really should work and is frustrating that it doesn't!

You guys aren't the only ones. Same thing just happened to me for both Music Maker Premium AND Movie Edit Pro Plus. Both just stopped working. All audio visualizers, timeline indicators, effects, frames, anything really! I get sound playback, and that is about it. It's so frustrating; because it was just working not too long ago without any error.

Hi

Try resetting the program to its defaults - File, Settings, Reset program . . .

Note - this will reset any customisation you done.

John EB tried that no joy.Still doesn't work. Not acceptable really. They told me to update and I would get 40% discount. Problem is that we need the cursor to move. It has only just stopped working. Any other suggestions guys

Just to have another moan. I rang Magix in UK and the guy on the phone was very helpful but unfortunately he could not fix the problem and gave me the contact for Technical Support. The Technical Support ended there. What annoys me is that a "Customer" on the Forum has come up with a solution to my problem (which appears to be a recurring issue to many) and yet "Technical Support" tells me I will have to upgrade my Software.

Rant over...many thanks peeps for responses. Maybe we should join "Technical Support" LOL

Thanks John for the fix and Z3P for original post as was annoyed it wasn't working, hasn't improved my music making skills but least makes it easier at making a noise 😊
