CUE Image File Icons

After each Audio Cleaning Lab (v. 17) project, two icons appear in the save folder: the Mp3 icon and something called a CUE Image File. This only recently started to happen. What are these little files for and can I stop them from being created?

I have found the same with ACL 17 but if I select save audio as a wave file then use the drop box to save as .mp3 it does not create the cue file.

This never happened with my earlier ACL 12 so why do we need it?
