I am not familiar with subliminal 'recording'. If you mean mixing and have the skills, a multi-track application would be better suited I would think. See this recent post on multi-channel v. multi-track. Sound Forge is a multi-channelsoftware editor, but in some simple scenarios sound-on-sound comping can be done.
