Crash in magix help. Timestretch + pitch crash

DDofsummer wrote on 2/18/2014, 4:08 PM

When I put a sample from the file manager (a random audio sample at 128 bpm) and change the pitch of the sample by double clicking on the waveform untill the audio FX rack pops up, I will change the pitch and hit apply and my entire program crashes everytime. I tried installing it into a 32 bit directory (example: c programfiles(x86).  nothing works. lots of crashes, used trial of magix too and nothing works. what can I do?

I had the same problem but long time ago and I was told by someone do not use APPLY but click on OK only and that worked. I will suggest the same to you try to click on OK instead APPLY and see if that works.

However, I know it is not the solution of your problem.

Did you update your software and also I wonder if you have asked the question with Magix support?

Other than above if you need proper reply please also include the Music Maker version and your windows operating system. (my guess using windows 8?).

Advice: please do not install and uninstall if you got purchased product some times there are only three installation you can do using the serial number. Also if un install you must use Magix clean uninstall utility.

Hi

If you originally installed the software in the Program Files folder - which I suspect you did from your statement . . . I tried installing it into a 32 bit directory (example: c programfiles(x86) . . . I think this may be part of the problem.

MMM is a 32 bit application and must be installed into the Program Files (x86) folder.  If you put the program in the Program files folder, which is meant for 64 bit programs, then you run the risk of the 32 bit software trying to use a 64 bit component, eg a dll, which will fail / crash / hang the program..

As a first step uninstall the software, run the Magix cleanup tool available here then install to the default folder recommended by the installer.
