Could not connect. Please check your internet connection

Hi Music Maker,
I am a customer of your MUSIC MAKER 2024 PREMIUM. I keep getting a pop up message saying - Could not connect. Please check your internet connection. I just purchased this software in June and had rarely the time to use it then but managed to install and run it quite a few times. Unfortunately, when I launched it during the last two days this message keeps popping up just after fully loading up. By the way, YES my internet connection is just fine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled - but faced with the same error. I am running it on a laptop with Windows 7 fine all this while. I'm loosing patients so I hope Magix is going to resolve this ASAP.

Thanks. Mr. Shashi.

@Shashi-Govindarajalu

HI

. . . . so I hope Magix is going to resolve this ASAP. . . .

There is nothing for Magix to resolve, any resolution is down to the user, ie you are trying to run modern software on a computer with an obsolete and deprecated version of Windows

Music Maker 2024 requires Windows 10 or 11, it is not supported on earlier versions of Windows, such as 7, which is lacking features which the software requires.

Options are:

  1. If the computer hardware is Windows 11 compatible, upgrade to this version

  2. If not Windows 11 compatible, due to the hardware being of the same vintage as Windows 7, and/or not having the requisite TPM security feature, then a modern computer which is Windows 11 capable is required.

In addition to @johnebaker's comments . . .
- You can find the System Requirement for MM2024 here:
    https://www.magix.com/ca/music-editing/music-maker/specifications/#c1614621
- as you've discovered, MM2024 can run on a Win 7 machine, but that's no guarantee that it will be fully functional, without problems.
- fyi, this is a user-to-user forum.  If you think you need support from Magix, see the "Support" link at the top of this page

@Shashi-Govindarajalu I believe Music Maker now needs a TLS 1.2 encrypted internet connection. Standard Windows 7 is missing support for this protocol.

I think you can enable this by following this guide from Microsoft. But this requires editing the Windows registry. I hope it works for you.
