Correct copyright description for soundpool copyright holders?

Hi

I need some clarity. I bought the Audio Pro Unlimited WAV. If I understand it correctly you can sell your compositions as long as you don't lease it.

How do you correctly reference the Soundpool copyright owner and Magix in the created sound file? e.g. When copyright field is present when exporting Audio.wma

Or

When copyright section is provided on upload site, e.g. SoundCloud

For example, if I wanted to reference the Soundpool "Metal - End of Times" correctly, how would I do it and what should be included for Magix? (I'm also trying to find out if the soundpool belongs to magix or if they are just the distributor)

Summary:

I'm trying to figure out what the right copyright description should be. Both in the file and on the site where the file is presented.

From what I could find I would own composition rights while the sounds I used are copyrights of magix or the respective soundpool owner.

Hi

That is a very good question.

I would suggest write some thing like this:

Composition © Ratel 2017, created under licence with Magix Soundpools (© Magix).

or whatever name you require where I have put Ratel

I would also run this by Magix support, email: support at magix.com where at = @, to confirm it is enough.

I'm posting this to finish of loose ends in the thread:

I contacted support with the exact same post and added the question about the copyright as you proposed.

Reply:

"Hello,

Thank you for your message.

As you've purchased the Audio Pro Unlimited license, there is no requirement to reference Magix or the specific soundpool unless you wish to do so.

Should you wish to reference that the track was produced with Magix soundpools under copyright, then the suggestion in the thread would be more than adequate:
"Composition © Composer 2017, created under licence with Magix Soundpools (© Magix)"

(Edited out name of respondent for privacy reasons.)

MAGIX Software GmbH
Borsigstr. 24
32312 Luebbecke
GERMANY"

It was mainly section 3.3 in the license that I wanted to be careful of.

"(3) Removal of references to copyright, performance protection or brand names that may be connected to the content. The customer is obliged to reproduce these references on each instance of use."

Although I think that has only to do with the Soundpool content and not the composition, but I don't want to take chances. I've only recently started dealing with using copyrighted things, so I want to be careful.

Hi

Thanks for letting us know - the confirmation from Magix is good to know.
