Corel VideoStudio Pro title pack

grahamm7 wrote on 11/11/2021, 10:16 AM

I do not have any Corel apps on my PC. However I find corel programs like this. My only thought is that it is used by MAGIX video editor for titling. I don't tend to like apps or things on my PC that I don't where they come from. I may well delete these as things I don't need. Any suggestions/information/advice

Hi Graham.

If you look at your Windows Settings / Apps, does it show there?

I ask because I can't even find such a folder or app on my system.

Ray.

Hi

If the full title is Corel VideoStudio Pro Title Pack this would appear to be a shareware set of titles from about 2011.

Have you ever used Video Studio either in its ULead or Corel guise or a user of an UpdateStar product?

Hello, Welcome

There was some discussion with regards to Corel software on this old thread here.

So your Corel Video pack is not connected to Magix software, and in this case I would remove it using the free Revo uninstaller.

Thanks for the replies. The Corel doesn't exist on progs of WIN button. Not listed under un-install programs via say control panel. Nor using Revo un-install does it appear. I asked the system to tell me what it thinks it has on the PC. Using Get-ItemProperty HKLM:\\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\* | Select-Object DisplayName, etd..... I will ask the MS Forum why some of these things are not seen under progs etc... Good old Windows - eh. I am planning to go up to Windows 11 sometime in the future (say in a years time). So I am doing preparation. What apps on my PC? Backup PC. Prepare etc... I will do a clean ISO install when I do upgrade. My PC passes TPM and Intel 8th Generation. I assume MAGIX will be fully compliant.

Hi

. . . . HKLM:\\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\* . . . .

I am puzzled - the only way for that to be there is with the program, and/or title pack, being installed sometime in the past, a trial version maybe(?) and the uninstall has not removed the registry key.

Are the actual Title pack files and folders on your computer or is the only reference you have to the title pack?

I vaguely remember that when I was looking for a Video Editor I looked at Corel. Might have tried a trial version. No doubt this is left over. Some software uninstalling is poor it doesn't clean up entirely behind it. I will look for any corel folders etc... Good old Windows with stuff hidden. I did find where there is an entry in the Registry for an uninstaller. But this would be getting hairy!
