I have to convert from Quicktime.mov to MJPEG. ( I wanted to upload some video loops to Catooh for sale) I'm assuming I need to download a video converter?

I googled  for a converter and lost my mind?  Which one is a good free one? I seached threw all the similar questions on these posts, but found nothing for MJPEG?

HI Pat

No need for a converter, MEP can do it.

Ensure the you have Quicktime installed - MEP uses this.

Import the MOV file to the timeline

Select File, Export movie, Video as . . . . .   (select the format you require)

Follow the dialogs through selecting the Preset required.

Note:  Catooh expects high quality video loops - do not be surprised if they reject your initial efforts.

ok great I followed your instructions no problem but................I converted it to Motion JPEG  on my timeline, I saved it (file, export to device, Magix MXV) but when I check my PC, it says this video file name is now Video Clip.avi

I am assuming I am trying to save the converted Video MJPEG wrong to my PC??

Hi Pat

. . . . I converted it to Motion JPEG  on my timeline, . . . .

How ?

. . . . I followed your instructions no problem but . . . .

Nearly     - there are 2 problems :

. . . .file, export to device, Magix MXV . . . .

    - it is not Export to device you select but Export movie as shown in the image

    -  MXV fles are Magix own format and you want to export as MJPEG - select the Export to mpg option and use one of the HD Archive  Catooh presets

OMGawd, see what happens when I don't have my morning coffee............

When I did the converstion,(to Motion JPEG)(file, Export movie, Video as Motion JPPEG) I didnt realize it was auto saved on my PC. I was trying to resave it using the Export to device.

But when I converted it to Motion JPEG, on my PC it says my new conversion Type of file is Video Clip.avi is that the same as MJPEG?

After I convert it, am I suppose to go to File, Export device, motion-JPEG-AVI

Hi Pat

Have a look at this video to see if you are doing anything different - I have three different video file formats on the timeline - it is an old project !

While preparing this I noticed that MEP already has 2 presets for Catooh    .

Click the Youtube icon in the player - the default player here is deteriorating the quality for some reason

Thank you for your patience. First time I ever dealt with conversions. It worked.I didn't notice the presets for Catooh till now.

This is what was confusing me:

Catooh was asking for a MJPEG file?? So I was going to File, export movie, and selecting Motion JPEG and the presets there, do not have anything other than User Defined preset. But when I go to File, export movie, and select MPEG, the preset options show the catooh and other presets.

Thanks again

But one question, what is the difference between MJPEG and MPG and MPEG?
