Are there not any applications available on the cameras software CD/DVD or makers website for conversion to another format?

There are some free converters available ef FFmpeg which claim to support MFX/P2 files, however I would not recommend any particular one as they vary in quality and capabilities.

I really appreciate you taking the time to offer a potential solution!

I am still stuck and don't have the money to pay for another program to convert these files so I have turned down the project and will have to be wary of these files in the future since MAGIX can't support them and offer absolutely no customer support whatsoever.
