Connecting digital video camera to computer.

I have Mjovie Edit pro 12, I cannot connect my Video Camera  to input to the programme. The cable I am using is a 3.5mm to USB and the programme does not recognise any connection. Is there a special cable that I should be using? What am I doing wrong? Would welcome any advice please.

Many thanks

Hi

. . . . Mjovie Edit pro 12 . . . .

Do you mean Movie Edit Pro 12 released in 2001 or Movie Edit Pro 2013 version 12?  Please give the fullname of the program and the version number available under Help, About . . .

We also need more information:

  1. Computer specification - please be specific ie processor make/model, RAM, Graphics card or chipset used, hard drive(s) and if more then one how they are configured,   Windows version.

  2. Camera make and model

  3. More information on the cable ie is this: just a cable, a cable with integrated video converter, did it come with the camera and has it three rings and a tip connection on the 3.5mm end.
