Conexant Polaris Unused CIR function- failure to install driver Win 10

carl-kesson wrote on 11/29/2020, 7:50 AM

Like many others I facing BIG problems installing the driver for the video grabber! This is very frustrating when purchasing and it wont work!! Spent many hours finding out how to solve it, uninstall the software with and without USB (black), tested different drivers(x64 and x32) mentioned in different forums, downloaded the setup file from Magix homepage but everything without luck!

I use Window 10 pro 64x and Video easy Rescue v.8

please just tell me which driver that should be used and post it so I can get it to work!

@carl-kesson

Hi

For Video easy Rescue v.8 you need ie 32 bit driver.

Assuming the USB device came with the software - see this article and select the black driver

After installing do a full restart of Windows ie Windows button, Power option, Restart to ensure the drivers are loaded correctly.

that I have done, but without success.

First time I installed it I used x32 but as it didnt work I tried x64 but also there with no luck.

Yes I have it with the software. USB device is K0065.

I have also used as you suggested Revo to uninstall evrything before I tried.

Is there any difference between the setup files between languages? I try to download the UK version right now, still 14% to go....

johnebaker wrote on 11/29/2020, 10:57 AM

@carl-kesson

Hi

Apart from the language difference, none.

I suspect your Antivirus may be blocking the installation of the driver, you may need to turn off its Ransomware/Folder protection feature or, if you can turn it off completely, for installing the driver.

Hi

. . . . Device USB . . . was not migrated due to partial or ambiguous match . . . . .

This usually means that Windows has tried to install a driver that does not match the device or there is an issue with the USB port that it is plugged into.

You can try manually installing the driver if you wish, however do bear in mind that you do so at your own risk as Windows will not be able to determine if the drivers is correct for the device:

  1. Extract the downloaded driver file to a folder.
  2. In with the USB device plugged in open Device Manager and locate it - it should be in the Sound, video and games controllers or Other devices section and have a yellow triangle icon indicating there is an issue.
  3. Right click the device, select Update driver, Browse my computer for drivers, Let me pick . . . .
  4. Select Sound, video controller .... from the dialog that opens
  5. Select Generic USB Audio, Have disk
  6. Browse to the folder where you extracted the driver files to you see a .inf file listed, click Open, OK
  7. Select the Model if listed K0065 or K0067 (they both use the same driver)
  8. Continue through the dialogs - you may get a warning that Windows cannot determine if the driver is suitable for the device.

They are not listed its only CxUnCir and DXVGRB. What will happen if I try this? I thinking of returning the product as I have tried everything now

johnebaker wrote on 11/30/2020, 11:49 AM

@carl-kesson

Hi

CxUnCir.inf is the Conexant video grabber.

If that fails I would suggest you raise a support ticket/contact sales through the Support link at the top of the forum - see this guide how to navigate through the support system.

This was the result..

carl-kesson wrote on 12/1/2020, 1:34 AM

@johnebaker, status, Windows 10 has automatically locked all unsigned drivers so by enable this I could make the installation of video grabber driver (Conexant Polaris Unused CIR function). Happy as I was I tried to start the program but still no video showing... worth mentioning was that I turned on every firewall and virus protection before I started the program....to be continued...

Step 1: Click the Start button, choose the Power button, press Shift and click Restart.

Step 2: After Windows enters WinRE, go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings >Restart

Step 3: To install driver without digital signature, press F7 to choose the Disable driver signature enforcement option.

Step 4: The system will boot to Windows and then you can install any driver that is not signed. After installation, you can restart Windows to let the option get enabled automatically.

carl-kesson wrote on 12/1/2020, 2:33 AM

@johnebaker, with disabling firewall, antivirus and changing the permissions in the root map did not do it either...
checking the driver again it tells you that the driver is somehow installed but still not.... back to square 1

Hi

Check that the following settings are turned in Windows Settings, Privacy for microphone and camera are set to Allow desktop apps to access your (microphone, camera).

If that does not work then it is time to raise a ticket on this - I am out of suggestions for this issue.

Hi,

RE Grabber model Black K0065 WIN 10 issue

I have suffered same WIN 10 problem with Conexant Polaris Unused CIR driver failing to load from the software CD or support download, although the MAGIX video Convertor 3 did load. I raised a support request which suggested various work arounds for privacy issues etc which did not resolve. I suspect that the 64 bit Conexant driver files supplied on the download for the Black device are at fault as I couldn't locate the ini files suggested by Magix support.

Eventually by trial and error I got the device loaded and the Conexant driver recognised by using the Conexant 64 bit driver included in the downloadable zip file for the 'Treiber Premium Wandler' . Just needed to unzip, right clicked on the ini file (highlighted below) and select install.

Hope this helps Win 10 issues with the Black K0065 device.
