Computer Crashes When I Try To Open Music Maker

I don't mean the program crashes. I mean my entire pc crashes and restarts itself. I've checked, and I meet the hardware requirements, so it isn't that.

I initially bought and downloaded the program from the recent HumbleBundle, but I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling from Magix's website. Same issue.

Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

I'm sorry you are experiencing these severe computer problems when attempting to run MM. Your description of what continues to happen even after an uninstall and reinstall, points strongly to the fact that at least part of the original installation was not removed and is still causing you problems. Please read this tutorial which explains in some detail how to ensure you remove every part of any Magix program, before rebooting your computer and then attempting again to install.

Also, please read this post and give us a lot more information about your computer and about the exact version and build number of MM you are attempting to run.

I followed a friend's instructions to get a little more information. I accessed the Administrative Events viewer to try to find the error causing the crash. Each time my computer crashed, this error occurred:

Error number: 10016

"The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID
{D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160}
and APPID
{9CA88EE3-ACB7-47C8-AFC4-AB702511C276}
to the user Opal\Benjamin SID (S-1-5-21-1909720785-xxxxxxxxxxxx Removed by Moderator) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container Unavailable SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool."

This is on a Windows 10 PC. I just completely uninstalled the Magix files as that pdf instructed. Unsure what additional information about my pc to get, or how to get it for you. Where could I find the build number if I reinstall?

Hi

. . . . "The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID  {D63B10C5-BB46-4990-A94F-E40B9D520160} and APPID {9CA88EE3-ACB7-47C8-AFC4-AB702511C276} to the user Opal\Benjamin SID (S-1-5-21-1909720785-xxxxxxxxxxxx Removed by Moderator)" . . . .

This is a Windows 10 issue, see here for a solution - it does involve editing the Registry and using the DCOM Configurator to change permissions and you do so at your own risk.
