Commentary Audio Quieter after MPEG4 Export

DSmitty wrote on 9/5/2018, 11:58 PM

Issue: When exporting a project using MPEG4 format, my commentary audio is always noticeably quieter after export. I have a video track, video audio track, music/sounds track and those all maintain the same audio levels. With my commentary track though I have the following Audio Cleaning settings enabled: DeNoiser, DeHisser, EQ. I also have the mastering set with the Auto Mastering voice selection set as well as it cleans everything up nicely. I'm not sure why the commentary audio is getting decreased. I don't have any compression settings set that I know of. Is there potentially some automatic audio compression that occurs during export?

I am running Magix movie edit premium 18.0.1.205. If you need any more information please let me know... thanks in advance!

@DSmitty

Hi,

Try turning on the Mixer (M) and watching the meters during playback. Is the meter on the narration higher or lower than on the other tracks? Audibly higher or lower?

Did you lower the volume of the other tracks using ducking or automation at the locations of the narration?

Is your narration stereo, with both channels showing up as equal on the meter? Or mono?

Thanks @browj2 It was just a stupid error on my leveling, good call. I brought game audio to half of what voice audio was and it was 10x better.
