It is not possible to re-combine clips when parts are deleted or effects added. You must Export your project to a video format (wmv, mpeg, Quicktime, or burn to DVD.
I don't understand the idea with it, but:
If you have made absolutely no changes: To recombine, just drag the original video file down to the Timeline, and you have your original video as a new project. Without any cuts. Save it with a new name.
You definitely CAN (well, sort of) recombine cut clips. Your don't remove the cut, but rather extend the end(s) of any piece to restore the original length including any deleted section.
MEP is a 'non-destructive' editor. Your video file is untouched; the timeline only shows what parts are to be displayed. eg:
[this-is my-full-clip]
[this-is m][y-full-clip] -- here I've made a cut
[this-is m] -- end section is removed
[this-is m] -- click drag on the right edge
[this-is my-full-clip] -- restored ala cut removed
Make sure you are in object mode with a <||> cursor (arrows around double lines), not stretch mode with a <[]> cursor (arrows around piece of film).
Note: you can also move a cut by click dragging it to either side between the two parts.
For what reason do you comment on a 10 year old thread?
In a video editor, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever to recombine a split clip - NONE! And if one wants to, simply delete one or the other and drag the relevant side of the remaining one back out - it's still there! Or, the original file is still there - it has not been split.
I suspect that you are a drive-by poster who will be banished.
Can you elaborate on your latest comment? That user's profile shows that she has made the one post above, now hidden, and there is nothing else showing in her profile details.
Jeff has hidden the post which was a link to a video purporting to show how to stitch videos together, I presume. I started to look at the linked video and immediately quit as it was obvious that it was next to useless in answering the 10 year old question. The poster, Sylvia, did not have anything under her (I presume) profile and this was the first post. When someone does this, posts some strange answer to a very old question, it raises a red flag that the poster is just a drive-by or spammer.
As I mentioned in another thread, splitting a clip on the timeline does not touch the original file. There is thus no need to stitch it back together.
