Season greetings and welcome to the Magix Sound Forge users community @Gary-Appold.

I'm creating a voice mail message and i need the codec as PCM MU-LAW (mlaw).
In sound forge is that equal to PCM

I recall seeing something about that format here before, but I do not remember that much... Search this forum and/or the web in general. There may be converters online or you may only have to change the extension from <.wav> to mlaw or whatever, if it is a PCM format. FWIW, PCM is technically not a data compression format, Codec applies to 'lossy' files

Can i save the wave file using PCM, Mono, 8000Hz and 16 bit rate?

Yes. "File> Save as> Wave / PCM". In the Save or Save as dialog window, choose the Custom button for other sample rate, bit depth and channel options.

Thanks. I found out that our VM system will support mlaw or alaw format.
