Hi

The method of opening one movie then select and copy a section/clip etc, closing then opening the second and pasting does not work.

You have to do it this way:

1.  Open the movie you want to paste into.

2.  Under File, Manage Movies select Attach Movie, a dialog box will open.

3.  Find the movie you want to copy from and attach it to the existing project. You will now have 2 movies in the same project

4.  Select the movie to copy from and copy the bits you need.  See image below for where to switch between movies

5.  Select the movie to paste into and position the timeline cursor at the point where you want to insert and paste.

6.  Repeat 4 and 5 as many times as you need.

7.  Select the attached movie, then select Manage Movies, Remove from Project and remove it.

8.   Save the project and continue editting

Movie Edit Pro MX has a realy nice feature that I have been utilizing frequesntly. You no longer need to open the other project to copy clips to your current project.

Just locate the project in the directory where it is saved under the import tab in MEP.

Then right click the project and choose "Display Project Content". Click on the folder and you will see all the clips in the project you want to copy from. Just drag them to the timeline and you will get the clip with allthe effects that were applied..

This is the best method when copying clips. If you want to copy a section of the timeline, then the method John gave will work best,
