"clicking" sounds. How do I prevent this?

When copying CDs or recording off of the internet there are foreign"clicking" sounds that become integrated in the music.

Spectrum editing becomes a chore with no guarantee of success.  i.e. Sometimes removing a click transfers the problem to another area of the recording.  Ugh!

 

How do I prevent the clicking from occuring in the first place?

Hardware:  AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core Processor 3800 + 2.00 GHz, 2.93 GB of RAM

Operating System: Windows XP

Software: Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 17 Deluxe
