Clean Track?

In the Arranger, there's a popup menu item: "Clean Track". . . I couldn't find any info in the Help file. It appears to delete all objects in a track. Does it do anything else (to or with the track)?

So, let's ask this from the other direction:

Is it possible for a track to hold hidden (not visible) objects?
