Chorus VST Effect plug in won't load

Alex-Belobraydich wrote on 1/7/2025, 9:08 PM

Ever since downloading the newest update to Music Maker 2024 , I am unable to pull up or apply the Chorus Effect plug in for any of my tracks. When I click on it, the "ChorusFlanger" option comes up-but that's something completely different, and not what I want. I want to use the one with the red box that pops up with the different settings and dial adjustments to fine tune. I've already tried uninstalling everything and re-downloading everything, but I can't seem to get it to come back. How can I get the Chorus VST plug in back?

Hi

. . . . When I click on it, the "ChorusFlanger" option comes up-but that's something completely different, . . . I want to use the one with the red box that pops up with the different settings and dial adjustments to fine tune.

This sounds like you are selecting the efx Chorus Flanger, the Chorus effect (red), it is under VST FX, Magix - yellow arrow in image below for Track or Object effect.

If the VST opens as shown in the inset image (yellow rectangle), click the indicated option to get the control interface.

I tried taking those steps; however I'm unable to see an option for 'VST FX under my list. When I go into that same section, this is all I see for my options:

It basically looks like I just don't have that effect package on my program anymore. I used to, until I did this most recent update. Is there a way I can get it back without having to re-purchase it?

@Alex-Belobraydich Please check the folders in the VST paths settings. I think the chorus effect should be in the '...\32\Magix Plugins\Vintage Effects Suite\' folder.

I think this folder is located under C:\ProgramData\? But I'm not sure because I always place it under a custom location during installation.

Thank you - I have tried this, and unfortunately, I cannot find the Vintage Effects Suite folder anywhere. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the entire program and running all updates etc, but it still is not fixed.

@Alex-Belobraydich

I notice you are running MM 2024. I no longer have this version installed but in MM 2025 the folder Vintage Effect Suite (note that Effect is singular, no "s") is to be found at C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\MUSIC MAKER 2025 PREMIUM.

Exactly which edition of MM 2024 do you have? As you can see from the location I listed, I have the Premium edition; perhaps the edition you have does not include that feature?

@Alex-Belobraydich Maybe you need to install a DLC from the in-app-store? I would guess it's the Music Maker Plus FX DLC from the Features section.

@emmrecs

Hi Jeff

. . . . the folder Vintage Effect Suite (note that Effect is singular, no "s" . . . .

There appear to be 2 different veersions, Vintage Effect Suite and Vintage Effects Suite, For MMM 2024 I have both installed in these different locations:

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Music Maker\32\Vintage Effect Suite - the effects are .efx and .afx files

C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Music Maker\32\MAGIX Plugins\Vintage Effects Suite - the effects are DLL files.

As you can see the effects contained in the 2 folders are not same.

@johnebaker Indeed the files I'm searching for is the 'plural' one, the Vintage EffectS Suite.

@emmrecs, the version of MM 2024 I have is the most recent version: 32.1.0.18 ... The version I had before that had the Vintage Effects Suite functioning perfectly, but suddenly when I updated to that newer version, I lost it.

Good news: I actually have found the DLL files of this Vintage Effects Suite!! So NOW my question is: HOW do I get them back onto my Music Maker program to be able to USE them? (Sorry for my lack of computer knowledge) Cos when I have a song file open, they don't pull up as an option for use.

@Alex-Belobraydich Open the Folders tab in the Music Maker program settings. Open the VST plugin path configuration and add the folder with the DLLs to the paths list (or the Magix Plugins parent folder). Then scan the paths. After that, the effects should be available.

That was successful-I now have the plug ins back on my program. Thanks for all the help!!
