Cant record Arpeggio with screen keyboard

SrLd wrote on 2/19/2015, 7:17 AM

HI,

In music maker 2015 premium, using the screen keyboard with Arpeggiator ON and Vita ON. I press record and hit the single note which creates an Arpeggio. I can hear the Arpeggio but it does not record it.

Instead the midi sequence is just a single note strike but the Arpeggio is not applied.

Am i missing something?

Thanks
Steve

Hi Steve,

You do hold the note down while you are recording?

I have no problem recording the arpeggio, so long as I hold the note down.

Hi John,

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, the note is being held down. I can hear it, it's just not recording it and the recorded result has, we'll no result/arpeggio.

I can record non arpeggiated music, it just records what I press on the keyboard.

Thanks for your help guys, I can confirm that It's the latest build 21.0.3.38.

It's the trial verison I'm running, but other than the lack of loops and sound pools etc. everything else looks like it's working.

Of course without clarification form MAGIX as to whether this is something that is left out of the trial version, I don't really want to spen mony on the full downlaod if it doesn't work.

I'll contact MAGIX now and see what response I get, I'll post back.

Thanks Again
Steve

Of course the arpeggios are not being recorded. Only the triggering notes are.

While playing back the recorded track it should be retriggering the arpeggiater.

@theChicagoan,

See the screen shot of my first reply. You can clearly see the arpeggio in the recorded midi tracks. All of the notes are there. The object can be played back without the arpeggiator and with a different instrument. To record both tracks, I simply hit record and held down the f key on my piano keyboard.

It may be that the arpeggiator is disabled in the trial version.

Okay, I got a very helpful reply from Customer Support and have now managed to get this working by playing with the sound driver settings. However it's not all good. I now have a huge latency of about 1 second but this is the only setting that will record Arpeggios.

browj2 wrote on 2/20/2015, 11:41 AM

Hi,

Did you try ASIO4ALL? This is what most people use, and it's free. I have no noticeable latency with it.

John,

I installed ASIO4ALL selected as the sound driver and this resolved the problem.

Thanks
