Hello,

Can not update the software can download the update but when it comes to updating all I get on the screen is the following a white box saying searching please wait, that all that happens,

does it sound like the CD has had it, when I try to to send a report to tech support the webpage tells me that the serial number is old and have to buy a new serial number.

Do you think I need to get a other CD.

please let me know.

thanks

Matthew

@MATTHEW06

I assume this problem is connected to this earlier post you made? If so, please take us step by step through exactly what you are trying to do.

At a guess you have an old version of ACL which you want to Update; is that correct? In your earlier post you asked about having an old version removed from your account. @johnebaker advised you in that thread that that was unnecessary but I would (again) guess that you have actually uninstalled it, hence the request to remove it from your account. Is that correct?

Now you have downloaded an update to the version you had but it does not install; is that correct?

If so, the reason is that any program Update requires that the base, original version, be still installed. An Update is NOT the whole program, merely a "patch" which adds to what is already there.

OTOH, if you are attempting to install a whole new version, i.e. an Upgrade, that WILL require that you buy a new serial number. It is, essentially, a completely new program.

My apologies if all my guesses are completely wrong! If so, as I wrote earlier, please come back and give us full step by step details of what you have done and what you are wanting to do.
