Cannot sign in to existing account - application malfunctioning

Wobblebottom wrote on 4/19/2022, 9:29 PM

Hi, all. I purchased Music Maker Premium Edition (2021) quite some time ago and initially it was working fine. However, it stopped working properly & now it seems that I can't even sign in to my own account via the product itself: thus, I cannot acess all my past purchases or even purchase further products. This has been going on for quite a long while now.

Would it be worth my while uninstalling & deleting Magix from my PC entirely and re-downloading & re-installing it using my initial order & serial numbers?

Thanks for any advice.

@Wobblebottom Try the following. Go into the program settings and click on the button to clean up the store. This will delete the old cache of the store and often help.

@Wobblebottom

HI,

An Edition is not the program. Which version of the program do you have? Check under Help, About.

The current version is 30.0.5.47, which is Music Maker 2022, and it's free. Music Maker 2021 is version 29.x.x.x.

You can have MM2022 running with 2021 Premium Edition activated with no problems.

Also, when you sign in, wait for at least a minute (60 seconds) as it often can take that much time for Music Maker to come back properly with you logged in and the last activated Edition showing.

Do not reinstall the program for now.

My guess is that you had Music Maker 2021 Premium Edition but have updated to Music Maker 2022 which has not been without problems. I'd suggested uninstalling and then login to your Magix Account and download the MM2021 installer from your products page. Then don't update.

Had I known about all these problems that this program suffers from. I would have not purchased it. I am plagued with issues. It has crashes constantly, usually after using it for about an hour. Then you have to either clean the store or rescan. Ridiculous. I submitted a support request, they sent me a standard email asking for (a pound of flesh) information which I provided. It's been over a month and I haven't heard anything back. My advice is to get Cakewalk. Its free and I haven't had a single problem with it.

Thanks, everyone. I've ended up uninstalling the 2022 Edition which, like some of you have said, is the "update" to the Premium, BUT reverts to the free version once installed - who does that to their cuctomers??!! So now I'm running my paid, 2021 Premium Edition again - which doesn't work correctly either.

I have made sure that I'm signed in. However, I'm still missing a heck of a lot of instruments and peripherals that I have purchased, and some Soundpools too, I think. There is no outstanding downloadable content showing in the Download tab.

Furthermore, I now can't hear samples of content that I might wish to buy from the Store nor can I even purchase from the Store - even though all indications are that I am, indeed, signed in. Neither of these buttons are working.

This is MOST frustrating!! I had the same problem with this application many, many months ago & at the time managed to send my concerns to the developer via email, along with all relevant log information, info about my computer system AND a video I'd shot detailing the situation but, like Jeremy-Hayes, had no luck in elliciting a response from them.

My OS is Windows 10 Home
Processor    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8260U CPU @ 1.60GHz   1.80 GHz
Installed RAM    8.00 GB (7.87 GB usable)
System type    64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

I really liked this program for it's simplicity over it's competition, but now I'm feeling as though I may as well have flushed my money down the toilet.

@Wobblebottom Your processor is too slow, Music Maker requires a processor with at least 2 Ghz.

Clean the store in the program settings to solve login problems. If you cannot log into your user account you cannot use the premium edition features.

Hi

. . . . Processor    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8260U CPU @ 1.60GHz   1.80 GHz . . . .

The Intel spec for the processor is:

Processor    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-8260U CPU @ 1.60GHz   3.90 GHz

The processor idle speed is the first figure, the second the top speed, and it should speed up automatically as the load demands.

Has the laptop manufacturer crippled the CPU down to 1.80 GHz - possibly due to heat dissipation limitations?

What make/model is the laptop?

@Wobblebottom Your processor is too slow,

I think it's fine - it's better than my older core i3 which runs MM2021 ok.

BUT reverts to the free version once installed - who does that to their cuctomers??!!

It doesn't revert because the installed program is always the free version and then the additional content is available to download or should be. I don't know why your content is not available unless it is just, as SP mentioned, that you need to clean up the store.

My friend, I have attempted to clean up the Store - on numerous occasions, to no avail, sadly.

John EB it's a desktop PC mate, built for me 2 years ago and based around the following components which the builder of the system assured me would be more than adequate for my requirements, including successfully running Magix.

@Wobblebottom Did you install Music Maker in its standard folder? I personally install Magix software on my computer under C:\Users\WindowsUsername\Magix and it works fine. This is a litte unorthodox, but it seems that some programs can get blocked by Windows security mechanisms if they are installed under C:\Program Files\
