cannot separate tracks

Hello. Have Magix audio cleaning lab pro for a long time. no problems until today. Inserted an album and tried to separate songs Put one line on Beggining and other on end. When I moved the mouse the lines jointed together and as I was moving the mouse so where the lines. Can anyone help with this? Thanks

@demetres-chrisikos It's always a good idea, in case a problem suddenly appears, to restart the computer and see if it helps. Do not select the option to shut the computer down and turn it back on, because that is not a proper restart.
