Cannot open gopro 4k and iphone 4k either

when i add to library it show thumbnail but cannot preview.. when i go next and start generating video i see "read error" ... other media works fine, gopro and iphone movies works fine in others players (vlc, adobe rush etc)

Hi

The issue you are having suggests that the recorded video is HEVC (h.265), this is not supported by FastCut.

They need converting to MP4, h.264.

If they are not HEVC, then analyse a source video clip using MediaInfo and post the results from the Text view.

For future recordings, for use with FastCut, set the GoPro and iPhone recording format to mp4, h.264.

If you want to continue using the HEVC format then you would need to upgrade the software that does support HEVC video - eg Photostory or Movie Edit Pro (plus or premium recommended)

I have no idea when it will be supported in Fastcut but my suspicion is "never". HEVC, it seems to me, almost presupposes that the user is working to at least a semi-professional standard if he/she wishes to "edit" such footage and thus will be using at least a "semi-professional" editing package, such as @johnebaker listed.
