You can get help directly from Magix Support
Requesting support is a bit complicated but do not blame your fellow users here.
- Select the "SUPPORT" at the top of the forum page
- Under "I NEED HELP WITH[" >> choose "Music" or other generalized category, and ignore the "Perhaps this will help you" option
- Further down on the page choose your application (again): (SOUND FORGE Pro or Audio Studio)
- At the bottom-right, click the blue button "SEARCH FOR OTHER SOLUTIONS"
- Enter a keyword, such as 'MP3' and click the "FIND A SOLUTION" button
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select "SEND A SUPPORT REQUEST"
- Log in to your account again if necessary
- If so desired, your can change the subject text (which is the previously entered keyword)
- "Describe your issue as detailed as possible" in the text box-support/

I am having the same problem with loading .mp3 files. I did uninstall/re-install a couple times to no avail. And also tried the "reset all preferences and cached data" with no effect.

I then attempted to submit a support request as you described. I filled in all the fields, but when I hit "submit", I get an "unable to submit your support request" message. No explanation on how to resolve. So I am kind of in limbo.

Did you try uninstalling with a third-party uninstaller that can remove left-over registry entries and other pertinent data the OS uninstall leaves behind, which in usually the root of recurring issues
Revo Uninstall and Geek Uninstall are two that have pro and freeware versions.

I just downloaded Revo, uninstalled Audio Studio (with Revo), re-installed, and tried again. Same issue: "unrecognizable format"
