Cannot Import videos

Ok I am now at wit's end.

I cannot import the video files I need to Movie Edit Pro Plus 2022.

It would only say that the file cannot be read and that the drive was full or write-protected. But only with some files. It's so strange, I dont know what to do.

It does that to some mp4 files, others it can play just fine. Avi files dont work at all. Some mp3 and wav don't work, some do. I dont see a system behind it. I converted my files to all sorts of types but they just dont work. Then some random videos from my phone import just fine.

Then I checked my old projects where some of the videos i wanted to use again worked. They don't there either but they did like 3 Months ago.

After installing quicktime the mp4 would import but still say it can't be read. Then play really laggy and without sound.
I did all pending updates (magix, windows & grafic drivers)

Can someone please help me? (I can give more info anytime)

Do the files play normally in other media players?

The files play normal anywhere else. I read the Support page on here and a few posts in the forum, in which they said it can happen because video editing programms go deeper in the code of the video, you know what i mean. But that doesnt explain it being so random that i works with some and with some not even after converting.

About whatI can do with those files. Well nothing, with some there isnt even that play and import thing if you hover over them in the import window. If I double click, the project just starts playing. And If I drag and drop, it depends. Some files say that error with the disk and dont import at all and others give the erorr they cant be read, import anyway but are laggy and without sound therefore basically useless.

I'm not really good with the software to begin with. Lemme get a screen recording of the issue.

There what it looks like. It's all downloaded videos. But alot from my phone or computer wont open too so I dont think its a copyright issue.

Try renaming the files.(don't forget to leave the end file extension).

Video files cannot have anything other than alphanumeric naming tags as far as I'm aware.

That was the issue. Was the last thing I could've ever thought about.

Agreed - and probably more times then we would like to admit, especially when dealing with video files produced on a MAC or Linux system.
