Cannot find Mouse Modes menu item in toolbar

devan-suber wrote on 12/16/2017, 11:11 AM

using version 25.1.1.67, Music Maker 80's edition. I cannot find the Mouse Modes menu item in my toolbar, and i wonder if it's due to my screen resolution (though it's set at the default 1920 X 1080, when i start up the program it tells me i need to increase the resolution). I'm on an XPS 15 with 8 GB ram, if that helps. How do i fix or change the view?

Hi

Are you saying you do not have the icons shown below after the Help option on the menu bar?

Try pressing F4 to set MMM to the standard layout.

This is what my version looks like. Hitting F4 did not seem to work.

Hi

Thanks for the screen shot.

Have you checked that the Windows display settings are set to 1920 * 1080 as shown below (right click a blank area of the desktop).

You may also need to check the settings in the NVidia graphics card control panel.

Yes, it is set to 1920 X 1080. I only have the Intel graphics chip and it says it's set at the same.

According to the Dell website the XPS 15 has an NVidia GTX 1050 graphics card!

What is the XPS 15 full model number and specification?

Hi

. . . . My mistake, i have the XPS 13 . . . .

No problem.

Do the keyboard shortcuts Ctrl + 1 through to Ctrl+0 work?

Was the 80's Edition got through HumbleBundle?

Hi,

Interesting, I have the latest full version of MMM and it is 25.1.1.71 and no updates are available. It looks like there is another version out there. Most confusing.

@johnebaker

You posted somewhere else about the Humble Bundle, but it did not look the same as the link that I have:

Yes, the 80's edition was acquired through the Humble Bundle. The shortcuts do not seem to work or do anything.

Typo, it is the version you have.

browj2 wrote on 12/16/2017, 6:47 PM

Found it. If you have the free version, then the feature for mouse modes is not acquired. If you go under Store, to More features, look at the Creative Suite. If not purchased then you are missing these features. The best and cheapest is to always buy the Premium. Buying these plus instruments individually will cost a small fortune.

Shouldn't i already have this from purchasing the Humble Bundle? I activated it and everything. They gave me a code. i don't really need more instruments at the moment since i'll be working with one sample that i want to manipulate, which is why i was trying to timeshift.

browj2 wrote on 12/16/2017, 6:53 PM

I have no idea what is included in the Humble Bundle. If possible, activate everything that you can - features, presets and instruments.

I believe i have activated everything i got a code from Humble Bundle for (not sure if i can use Vintage Effects Suite with this product) and downloaded everything. The menu still has not appeared so maybe i do need to purchase that.

Hi

No, the free version of Music Maker has limited functionality which you can add to either by purchasing additional soundpoll, instruments and effects, in your case you purchased the 80's edition Soundpools etc.

As John CB says if you are serious in using the programme than it is better to get the Plus or Premium versions.

Oh I see. Thank you for the clarification, I wish this had been listed in the manual or elsewhere in the Humble Bundle terms.

browj2 wrote on 12/17/2017, 10:47 AM

This information is available on the Magix.com website. You have to look carefully at what is included and what is not included by comparing the various versions. Humble Bundle is a giveaway, and one should not complain about not getting the top-of-the-line product for next to nothing.

Hi,

I got the Humble Bundle and activated Vintage Effects from within Music Maker (so long as you have access to add VST's). For some reason, Vintage Effects do not show up in Movie Edit Pro Plus/Premium, but they do show up and can be used in VPX. These are Corvex, Ecox and Filtox.
