Cannot connect to selected device - No Webcam nor USB sound card - Windows 10

Hi,

I have just downloaded and installed your software, however as stated in the title, there is no device it can connect to, under Windows 10.

I am not sure whether it is an issue of the software or Widows 10 sort of "firewalling" webcam and sound card.

Any help appreciated!!

Regards,

Michele

Hi

. . . .that I am not going to receive a useful answer at all? . . .

Not at all, this is a users forum and it may take a while for another member to answer.

In this case we require more information:

  1. MEP version and is it patched up to date?

  2. Computer specification.

  3. Do you have both the 32 bit and 64 bit drivers installed for the webcam and USB sound card?

  4. Was MEP installed on a previous version of Windows and then upgraded to Windows 10?

If you answered yes to questions 3 and 4 and the problem appeared after upgrading to Windows 10 - then you may need to reinstall following this procedure.

I was having the same problem, until I started to mess with the audio devices. Pick the camera first, then click through each of the audio devices and see what works.

Hopefully that helps.

Note: I have Magix Movie edit Pro 2015 on a Win 10 machine, so I don't know if it will work for you, but I don't think it would hurt to try.
