Cannot burn movie

sensfan wrote on 8/16/2015, 7:39 PM

In attempting to burn my blu-Ray, it gets hung up on cut 4 of 5. There is no error log. It just stays on here forever until I stop it. I have left it for a day and it never completes or tells me anything. I have selected H264. I have done one other movie and it burned overnight and shut down. I even edited a shorter version. The first movie had the space indicator to the end yet it did not warn me of this as previously done. The revised movie definitely has lots of space.

Any ideas? This is very frustrating. Using movie edit pro 17. Thanks.

Hi

What is your computer specification and Windows version ?

Did you get the following message

if so, did you  check the two options to rewrite chapters and menu and click Encode all ?  This you should do  otherwise any editting changes will not be applied?

What happens if you use the Image Recorder instead of the BD drive for burning?

I am using Windows 7. I did not get encode all as it was the first attempt to burn the new movie. I have had that message for previous attempts and have picked encode all and had the same result. I have not attempted to burn a simple DVD. The BD drive is new and was used successfully for the first movie.

Hi

. . . . The BD drive is new and was used successfully for the first movie . . . .

Is this an external USB drive?

Is your computer a PC or a laptop?

It is an internal Blu-Ray burner. I use a desktop PC.

Are there any other options to get this to work? Thanks in advance.

I'm also having major disk burning issues and have an email in with tech support and will post answers on the forum once resolved.

Thanks. I have no tech support. Is yours the same issue as mine, I.e. Getting stuck at cut 4. I plan to try burning a DVD to see if that works but cannot try it until next week.

Upon returning from vacation, I appear to be able to successfully burn the movie on a DVD, not a blu-ray. I don't understand why as this is a new burner that has only been used once.  I am currently at cut 5 of 5.

I also noticed that the indicator in the burn menu takes up more space than for the blu-ray. I don't understand that at all. I would have thought it would be the other way around.

Does this mean that my blu-ray burner - that I have only burned one movie once with - is no good? Any other suggestions? Thank you in advance.

I don't understand how Magix works. I attempted to re-burn my previous movie (that worked) and now it says it does not have enough room on the disc. It burned just fine before.

The same issue is happening with the movie that had room before my vacation. Now it suddenly as no room when I had room before my vacation and did not make any changes.  I have been modifying my new movie to get it to the point where it now has room. I will have to continue that tonight.

I did burn a few clips and it burned successfully.

So maybe all alone the movie was too big, but it was certainly not indicating this. Why would that be? I always got that indicator error when burning DVDs.

Any ideas? Thank you.

I have now attempted to burn the movie with the indicator showing that it will fit. I have been waiting for over 3 1/2 hours for cut 4 of 5 to resolve itself. It is still hung up. My burner works, just not with my movie for some reason. I have no clue why.

I have run out of options on what to do here. Can anybody answer this for me? Thank you.

I've been dealing with Magix support for the last year on the problems in MEP 2015.  I've specifically been dealing with the inability to burn a dual layer DVD and bluray from a 2 hour + multicam edit.   Erratic settings in the burn menu, failures to burn, menus that don't work on standalone players, etc.  No problem with a single layer DVD but absolutely no luck burning a DL DVD or a bluray.  No problem in MEP 2013 so I suspect something is seriously flawed in the burn module of MEP 2015.  I've asked Tech Support 3 times to "try to replicate the issue by setting MEP 2015 to all default settings except Main Concept encoder and try to burn a bluray and dual layer DVD with 2 hours of 1080i footage and a simple stock menu to see if you have the same issues?"  They constantly come back (after waiting days) with just another suggestion for me to try.  I just sent them another email asking why they cannot test the siftware as I ask.  If it works for them, perhaps my install is corrupted.

I ended up upgrading to Movie edit Pro 2015. My blu-Ray movie finally burned. I am not sure what the problem was with the previous software.
