Since you've been previously able to successfully burn D/L discs in MEP I'm not sure how helpful my ideas might be but...

Can you verify whether your burner is still operating correctly, by e.g. using ImgBurn (or any other suitable burning app) to do a test burn of your disc (some apps may require a Disc Image file; ImgBurn can burn from the "raw" "DVD Image" files)?

As a matter of interest, because I sometimes need to burn D/L discs for clients (which they may then play on a variety of DVD players, not all of which seem to "like" recordable discs) I have, for some time now, not used MEP/VPX to burn such discs.  Instead I always use ImgBurn; its set-up for such discs is somewhat confusing but the results are always playable on any machine, apparently.  (At least, since starting to use ImgBurn no client has returned any disc saying they cannot play it.)

Hi

Further to Jeff's post - even though the discs are from the same pack it is not unknown for some variation in quality and recordability particularly in the unbranded and economy brands and sometimes with particular well known branded names.

. . . . No changes where made to the system or program from the second disc to the third which failed . . . .

I presume you are making multiple copies of the same project?

I do not use MEP to produce further discs of the same project once I have a good disc.

I use this as a master to produce further copies with Nero - you could use ImgBurn if you do not have Nero

 . . . . reinstalling the program and setting to default settings . . .

Re-installing is very much a last resort action to be taken, and you need to run the Magix cleaner tool in between uninstall and reinstall to guarantee a true clean install - Windows installer/uninstaller can be notorious for leaving bits of the program behind.
