Can you speed the clips up without getting blank spaces?

Thanks for the help on my other questions. Sorry I keep asking more, haha. I'm trying to find the manual but I figured I'd ask in the meantime.

So I have maybe 40-50 clips in a video, and I want the whole thing to be sped up x2. I grouped all the clips and changed the speed, and it technically worked, but now I have to move all of the clips back next to each other since changing the speed created gaps by all of the clips. Is there a way (like alt+del to keep gaps out when cutting clips) to prevent the gaps from happening like this? I'm using Edit Pro 2016 Plus.

DelphicScorpion,

If you are getting gaps you need to change the mouse mode from selecting single objects.

The above works if you have all your clips on one track. If you are using multiple tracks pick the next mode to the right "mouse mode for all tracks". Make sure you have all the tracks selected first.

The manual is available from the 'Help' menu:

It is located in the same folder as the main program and is probably called Videodeluxe_EN.pdf'

Regards,

Carl

Hi,

Quick answer without trying alternatives: if you are happy with the clips, meaning that they have been trimmed and you don't want to go back and extend anything, then simply export to Magix video file, mxv format, import the result into a new project or even just a new movie, then adjust the speed. Simple now, because you only have one object.

You may find this method useful in other cases, especially where there are a lot of effects that slow down the editing process.

If you think that you have questions that are not simple "how to" type and that may require more detailed discussion, alternatives, many replies, etc., then go under the Forum tab......MEP and open a topic there. It is easier to follow for us and easier to refer to later. Under Q&A, the topic quickly gets buried under a mass of simple Q&A's.

Your previous question should have been asked in the Forum. Even though it looked simple at first glance, it could engender a lot of discussion and methods. These are the fun type of questions.
