Can't resolve Error Code -59

Brandon-Gulker wrote on 3/2/2022, 8:37 PM

I tried to install Magix Photo Manager. At the end of the installation i get a "Version Protection" error that states: "Error initializing copy protection. Please check installation."

I clicked okay and started the software. At this poitn I get an error that says:

"The program could not be started. The installation folder may be damaged.

Reinstalling the program could fix the problem. Please contact support if this error occurs again.

Error code: -59"

I have unistalled and reinstalled several times. I have also followed the instructions on this site: https://www.magix.info/us/support/article/troubleshooting-error-59-16xx-and-account-already-exists--537/

I keep getting this error. Any help is appreciated.

Hi

See this Support article.

Additionally check that you Antivirus is not blocking the program installation, if necessary temporarily turn of its Folder/Ransomware protection features, during installation.

I purchased it from the Magix web site

Edit: A little more information. I had previously installed this software on a different PC at home. We got a new home PC which is where I am trying to install it now. I deactivated it on the previous PC and my account shows that it should be able to be installed on two PCs. However, I am still getting an activation error.

I hadn't tried that before. I just downloaded it and tried it and it told me "running the application's uninstaller failed! Possible invalid uninstall command!

Any additional tips?

Edit: I figured out how to get in and have it remove additional files. It seemed to work and then I re-installed the program. I do have the same problem, however, where there is an activation error.

I have been through the recommended troubleshooting loop a few times now and no luck. I still end up back with the same problem. I'm posting screenshots with this post that show the sequence of windows I get. Any suggestions?

Hi

Uninstall software again with Revo and go to your command prompt, run as administrator and type sfc/scannow, Its a function of Windows and checks that none of the files required by Windows are corrupt, missing or the wrong version.

Try to reinstall software again with virus/firewall temporarily disabled.

If you still have no success, please contact infoservice@magix.net for further assistance, as its Easter weekend, wait till Tuesday.

Thanks. I ran the uninstaller and the sfc/scannow command as administrator. I'm not sure what to do with the file. I uploaded it below in case it's something you can guide me through.

I disabled firewall and virus and reinstalled but got the same errors.
