Can't record video from Panasonic DV camcorder to MEP 2013

I cannot record video from my Panasonic DX110 Mini DV camcorder to Edit Pro 2013+.   I don't switch on the camera until I have opened MEP.   When I press the record button, the tape transport works but no video or audio is recorded.   Checking in Control Panel, the camera is recognised and shown as working properly.   I have also tried recording in MPEG but then the tape transport doesn't work and nothing is recorded.

I am running in Windows 7, if that makes any difference.   Could you please tell what I am doing wrong or missing out ?

Many thanks

Hi

How are you connecting the DV camera to the PC?

Which version of Windows 7 are you using and is it 32bit or 64bit.

If you are using Firewire (IEEE 1394) connection and you have Windows 7 64bit (any version) then see this tutorial

Thanks very much, John.    Yes, I am connecting by firewire and using Windows 7 64bit.   I followed your tutorial and it worked perfectly.   I can now record in both AVI and MPEG.  What a great asset this on-line community is.
