When I first installed SoundForge Pro 14, I found that the cursor was locked solid and would not move to anywhere I clicked on the timeline. Unfortunately, I cannot recall exactly how I resolved it but suspect that it was by going to Options/Preferences/Audio (tab) and changing the 'Audio device type' field to Microsoft Sound Mapper.

This may or may not be related to your issue, but I think its worth looking at even if its a remote possibility.

I cannot click on the dots

@jim-atkinson: Are you in the 'Pencil' edit mode?

btw, do you have SF Pro or AS (Audio Studio)?

Assuming this happens with all file types.. Confirm the reverse Spacebar/F12 option is unchecked in "Options> Preferences> General"
Also check "Seek cursor on playback" and in "Options" and "Play normal mode" in "Options> Transport"

Otherwise, Reset/Clear cache ("File" menu") or reinstall.
