I purchased Magix Suite 365 today and have downloaded everything. But when I open up the program and click on my New Blue Add-ons, I can't open them. How do I re-install and re-activate them or open them so I can use them? Thanks.
Everytime I download the 2 New Blu Packs and activate them with the coupon code, they don't do anything afterwards. And if I close the program and re-open it, I have to download and activate the New Blue Packs again.
Can you post a screen shot of the effects section of the program to see if you have indeed downloaded them as they need to be installed separately from the main program but from within the program. If you are seeing the coloured picture icons when you click on one you should see a download button to the right of that icon to download the effects.
If you have already done that can you show a screenshot of the list of effects that should show in the effects section please?
[Edit]
Have you opened an account at New Blue to make sure they are registered to your machine?
I have installed them and activated them, but when I click on the icons to start using them, nothing happens and I can't start using them as I should be able to. Also, if I close the program, I have to keep re-installing them, but again nothing happens after I reinstall them.
The individual effects themselves (if you have actually downloaded them) appear below those icons and should look like this unless you are in the list preview mode.
Normal view List view.
You need to select an object by left clicking on an object in the timeline view and then choose the effect from its icon and either adjust controls manually or select a preset to apply.
I think I found them. Mine are different than yours. Is it because we bought the software at a different time and in different countries? I am in Canada, you are likely in USA.
No, it's because I'm probably showing a different set of effects as an example. There can be hundreds to choose from depending on the individual packs contained in the program. You are showing the New Blue Essentials pack and I showed the New Blue Elements pack. Two different plugin sets. Different packs are offered over time by Magix or you can buy additional packs through the shop section or from the New Blue or similar websites.
Thank you for clearing that up and helping me in regards to New Blue Efffects. One last thing I want to ask before I close this thread is regarding the numerous BCC effects I see in my program when I open it up.
Many of the BCC effects give me an X across the screen when I try to apply them. Does that mean I haven't downloaded them properly or I have to purchase these effects in some other way? I have screen shot an example for your reference.
No. Unfortunately you have the same problem I have in as much as somehow during the downloads you have picked up an incorrect effects pack. BCC effects are Boris Continuum effects that are not licenced to work within the editing package. I'm not sure how or why they get into the program. Perhaps just to show what can be used or it may have come from a Vegas program if you have ever had a Vegas Pro editing program on your machine as Vegas Pro gets the Boris effects with it whether active or not. (or so it seems to me).
I have literally tons of them and so far have no idea how to remove any of them.
I just leave them in their collapsed state so the individual effects don't show. It's annoying but not really a game changer for me. You could purchase an activation code from Boris Effects but it is incredibly pricy. (currently $995.00 USD or about $34 a month subscription)
With BorisFX, when you initially install the plugin you have a license for, you have an option to install everything (which will give you a ton of red "X's" on those plugins, or just licensed plugin(s). What happens, and this is often, most don't even look to make sure only the licensed software is installed and experience what others are posting. Strangely, Boris did have a video on how to install the units and license them and not install everything else, but it's no longer there....
I have Continuum Complete 2023 OFX, and they do show up in MEP and VPX12 but are hit/miss as for operation.
As @CubeAce reported, if you want to get rid of those pesky "x's", you have to buy and activate the software. A new license is $695 perpetual, or annually paid in full subscription of $195. I usually upgrade around Black Friday when Boris has the sales. For me to upgrade my perpetual license is about $150. For me, BorisFX Continuum Complete is an amazing piece of software with just about everything I need, and much, much more. A lot I haven't even looked at fully. But it's there if I need it.
