Can't Open MP4 Files I CREATED in MEP!

SOS! I just updated MEP and now I can't open MP4 files I created in MEP! First it claims I need Quicktime (which Apple doesn't even support anymore)... but when I installed that, the files didn't work correctly (no audio, choppy video). The next time I tried dragging the file into a clean (new) project, and it said the drive was write protected. Does anyone know what to do? I've used this program for YEARS and never encountered a problem like this!

[UPDATE] I re-installed the MP4 codec and it went back to working. FYI.

[UPDATE 2] NOW, I can't open the .MTS files I recorded with my Sony Camcorder (the files I used to CREATE the .MP4 files I mentioned earlier. SOS!

[UPDATE 3] Nevermind. I forgot to tell the software to use the Main Concept MP4 codec I purchased. That fixed everything for now.

Ok, this is my FOURTH update on this issue. The new update basically destroyed my software's functionality. I think it was the installer that did it, to be honest. Anyway... After Update #3, I found that I could no longer open .mov files (a new problem). The software says either the drive is write-protected (it isn't) or I need Quicktime (I don't). Finally, I uninstalled Magix from my machine entirely and reinstalled it fresh. Now, everything works exactly as it should. I can access all my files (without Quicktime) and I get both video and audio with everything. The only remaining bug is - every time I open the software - the update installer asks for permission to install the demo project (which I have opted not to install because I don't need it). What a weird and intensely frustrating saga!

Hi

. . . . The only remaining bug is - every time I open the software - the update installer asks for permission to install the demo project . . .

If it is the Extra Content installer popping up it is not a bug - see this comment to stop the popup appearing

Thanks, John. That did solve the dialog box problem for me and it appears - finally - that I am back to 100% functionality - though I can't open the project I completed before the reinstall. ...but that's ok. It's only one project. The rest all work fine and the NEW stuff I do seems to work fine. Phew.
