Can't install (Sound Forge/Acid)

Aaron-Trull wrote on 6/26/2020, 11:02 AM

I've recently purchased Magix Sound Forge/Acid Music Studio from Best Buy. I went through the whole process of registering, and trying to install the files directly from the email sent with the .exe files. However, it will try to extract, but then indicates I'm not connecting to the internet. Also, communication with the server, and not sure what's going on.

Assuming you have the product serial number(s), try downloading the installer(s) directly from Magix. The ones that you have maybe outdated.
Go the Magix Service Center, log-in and select 'My Products', alternately,, your could go to the Magix Download Center and enter your product(s) serial number there to download the installer. If the products have not been registered, go to "Product registration" on the 'Magix Service Center page and fill in the pertinent info to register.

I was not aware Magix emailed installers, Normally they just email the software serial numbers .. though I have not purchased Magix products from a third-party vendor like Best Buy.

btw, Welcome to the Magix Sound Forge forum @Aaron-Trull. This is a user-to-user group . The moderators are not Magix employees and do not have access to Magix registration data. So if the above information does not help, contact the Magix Customer Service Sales Team which handles activation issues.

Okay I have them installed. Next issue would be do I have to purchase another registration key for using the software (ACID) (FORGE)? It's asking for numeric key, and I've already spent money just on buying the program from Best Buy.

Did you purchase a disc or just a download link ? What versions? Audio Studio or Pro and version number (the latest is SF-14). Either way, you do not have to purchase a registration key (aka, serial number). If you cannot find the serial numbers, ask Best Buy where they are supposed to be. If they are sent by email, sometimes the ends up in a spam or junk folder. If the software is on a DVD or CD disc, the serial numbers are usually printed on the disc or disc sleeve,.

Sound Forge and Acid are two separate software applications. There are often sold bungled together though. Both should have come with serial number(s) to activate after installation.
